Elements in my personal history play a role in my pursuit of quality. My father was Italian and spent years traveling the world to locate exotic woods, like the burl, for use in a highly specialized niche in the furniture industry in Italy. My mother is from Colorado and is a spirited, adventurous woman. After marrying, my parents settled in Milan to live and raise our family. The experience of Italy was transforming for my mother, as the rooted and practical American became a cultured, sophisticated Milanese. From my father, I learned to seek and find. From my mother, I got a sense of practicality. As an adult, I, too, wanted to search the world over in my own way. I have been fortunate to live in Milan, Denver, Los Angeles, Chicago before settling down in Philadelphia. Philadelphia is where my husband and I have chosen to raise our three sons. It came very natural to make travel my career. For the past fifteen years, I have specialized in high quality, off the beaten path, custom tours of Italy. | | In closing, I would like to share with you a poem by Edgar Lee Masters from Spoon River Anthology, introduced to me by my father when I was a young girl It has been very inspirational to me throughout my life.
